The Belgian Warmblood (BWP, Belgisch Warmbloedpaard) is one of the most successful sport horses in the world, bred with a singular focus on show jumping. Its studbook, the BWP, was founded in 1955 to organise the rising Belgian sport-horse breeding movement, and today it consistently ranks at the very top of the WBFSH world rankings for jumping. Temperament and Conformation

Belgian Warmbloods typically stand between 160 and 170 cm at the withers. They are athletic, powerful horses with an uphill build, strong hindquarters and excellent scope over a fence. Ride the horse several times, on different days if possible, and test it over the type of courses you intend to compete in. Ask for competition results and, where available, video footage.
